Entry Barrier For DHIS for most medical establishments is not possible to achieve

@IntegrationSupport
Hi NHA first i want to congratulate you for your effort to digitalize the medical records in India…

Now you have come out with the DHIS scheme, me sitting on both sides of the fence i.e I run two hospitals and is integrator of Software NICE-HMS.

Most hospitals i.e nurshing home i.e typical one run by husband and wife as consultants just do not have so many patients with them to fulfill 50 transactions per bed per month.

  • The average OPD per top consultant is not more than 10/day. It is definitely NOT 100 per day . And for those who are in the beginning of practice it is not for more than 2 or 3 patients… Of this,(patients) less than 30% will walk to hospital with an Aadhaar card and connected Phone numbers
  • If a hospital has 10 beds, the average occupancy in a day is not more than 3 to 4 patients in typical hospitals. i.e 30 to 40% of beds occupied.
  • From above facts entry barrier for DHIS is just not possible for 95% private hospitals.
  • Please do not take out clinics from the DHIS scheme.
  • Please focus on young doctors who do not have more patients. As these doctors have a lot of time to enter medical records in digital format they will do it, if the focus is on busy practitioners they are hard nut crack as they have less time and they do not like change easily. Established doctors will only change when they feel competition from younger people.
